Overview
Press Hook is a two-sided media-relations platform built for consumer product brands.
Brands build a digital press kit - brand story, product photos, talking points, retail and affiliate links - and the press kit doubles as a public profile that media can find.
The other side is the reason it exists: journalists, podcasters, Substack writers and creators on the platform post live source requests asking for products in a specific category, and a brand sees the request and answers it in one click instead of hunting contacts and sending cold pitches.
Around that loop sit sample request management, a live activity dashboard, media monitoring, coverage reporting, expert collaboration and Shopify sync.
The homepage carries vendor-published network numbers - 1,154 brands it has landed coverage for, 15,934 publications in the network, 9,438 press articles landed and 224.3B impressions generated - which are the vendor's own figures rather than audited data. Pricing was readable on presshook.com/pricing on 22 September 2026, and it is published per plan rather than hidden behind a demo: Free at $0 covers a public press kit page and applications to paid source requests.
Basic at $49 per month adds brand discoverability, inbound media inquiries, sample requests, the products, services and features listings and Shopify sync.
Proactive at $699 per month adds direct pitches to journalists at 100 a month, the live activity dashboard, media monitoring and expert collaboration.
Premium at $1,499 per month makes pitching unlimited and done for you, and adds monthly strategy calls, a dedicated account manager and personalized pitching.
Billing is monthly, six-monthly (save 12%) or annual (save 20%), and the page states a 6-month minimum applies on some plans.
Agencies get bundles: Proactive for five brands at $499 per month and for ten brands at $999 per month, with every client press kit under one account. Two things deserve attention before subscribing.
First, the value is category-dependent: the site explicitly excludes pre-revenue brands with no sales, brands looking for a one-time press release blast, service businesses such as law, real estate and restaurants, and political or religious organizations, so the platform is effectively aimed at physical consumer goods in beauty, food and beverage, wellness, home goods, fashion, kids and parenting, pets and sports.
Second, published numbers do not all agree - the plan cards start at $49 per month while the site's own comparison table quotes its monthly cost as from $559 per month against $8,000-$20,000 for a PR agency, a gap worth clarifying with sales.
On timing, the vendor states most brands receive a first media inquiry within 30 days of setting up a profile and that placements typically follow within 60 to 90 days; those are vendor estimates, not guarantees.
Use Cases
Getting a new consumer product in front of journalists already writing in the category
Responding to live source requests instead of cold pitching outlets one by one
Managing sample shipments and tracking which requests turned into coverage
Giving agency clients a shared press kit, dashboard and coverage report
Building a public brand profile that podcasters and newsletter writers can find
Who Is This For
Consumer product (CPG) brands looking for press coverage without an agency retainer
Ecommerce brands with existing sales and product photography ready to pitch
Founders handling their own PR who need contacts and requests in one place
PR agencies and publicists managing several client press kits
Brand marketing leads who need coverage reporting for stakeholders
Key Features
Digital press kit and public brand page
Build a journalist-ready press kit in one pass - brand story, product photos, talking points, retailer and affiliate links - and it doubles as a public page that media can discover on their own.
Live source requests from journalists
Media members post requests for products in a category, and a brand sees the request and responds in one click, which inverts the usual cold-pitch workflow.
Direct pitching and media monitoring
Proactive adds 100 direct pitches to journalists a month plus a live activity dashboard and media monitoring, while Premium makes pitching unlimited and handled by the Press Hook team.
Sample request tracking and coverage reporting
Track who asked for samples, what shipped and which requests turned into coverage, so PR stops being an activity log and starts producing a report.
Agency roster management
Agency bundles put five or ten client press kits under one account with shared billing, a single dashboard and a named account manager for multi-brand rosters.

Pros & Cons
Pros
- Pricing is published per plan rather than hidden behind a demo: Free $0, Basic $49/mo, Proactive $699/mo, Premium $1,499/mo, plus agency bundles at $499/mo for 5 brands and $999/mo for 10
- Live Source Requests invert cold outreach - journalists ask for products in your category and brands respond in one click
- Sample request tracking and coverage reporting give small brands PR measurement that is normally reserved for agencies
- Shopify sync and Google Workspace integration fit an ecommerce brand stack instead of requiring a parallel workflow
- Multi-brand agency bundles with shared billing and a named account manager make it usable across a client roster
Cons
- Real outreach starts at $699/mo for direct pitching; the $49/mo tier is a listing plus inbound inquiries and applications to paid source requests
- The site quotes from $559/mo in its own comparison table while the plan cards start at $49, a discrepancy worth resolving with sales before committing
- Explicitly not for pre-revenue brands, one-time press release distribution or service businesses, which rules out a large part of the SMB market
- Network figures such as 15,934 publications, 9,438 articles and 224.3B impressions are vendor-published and cannot be independently verified
- A 6-month minimum applies on some plans, and the 12%-20% discounts require upfront six-month or annual payment

We read presshook.com/pricing on 22 September 2026: Free $0, Basic $49/month, Proactive $699/month with 100 direct pitches a month, Premium $1,499/month with unlimited done-for-you pitching, plus agency bundles at $499/month for five brands and $999/month for ten, with monthly, six-month (12% off) or annual (20% off) billing and a 6-month minimum on some plans. The live source request model is a genuine alternative to cold pitching for consumer brands, and sample tracking plus coverage reporting is rare at this price point.

Editorial view: we would place Press Hook with consumer brands that already sell and have product photography, where the $49 tier is cheap enough to test discoverability before committing to $699 for direct pitching. Two cautions from the same site: its comparison table quotes from $559/mo while the plan cards start at $49, and the network statistics are vendor-published. Treat the category exclusions as a filter, not fine print - this is not a tool for service businesses or pre-revenue projects.
