Userdesk
Userdesk creates ChatGPT-style assistants from content you already have - website pages, Notion, Google Drive and PDFs - and deploys them as a web widget, Slack app or HTTP API, with a free plan and paid tiers from $16 to $416 a month.

Overview
Userdesk is an AI assistant platform for websites, built by Pixelfox Group AB in Sweden.
The premise is narrow and practical: instead of authoring a knowledge base from scratch, you connect content that already exists - website pages, Notion, Google Drive and PDF files - and the assistant answers visitor questions from those sources.
Deployment is equally undramatic, which is a compliment here: a web widget, a Slack app, an HTTP API endpoint, or a plugin for WordPress, Webflow, Wix, Squarespace and Shopify.
The homepage sells it as a lead-generation tool rather than only a deflection tool, promising that the assistant collects purchase intent, books calls and closes deals on autopilot, and the vendor states the product is used by 900+ companies. For marketers the value arrives in three places.
Coverage comes first: the assistant replies 24/7 in 52+ languages and answers in the visitor's language even when the underlying document is written in another one, which removes the usual translated-FAQ project before entering a new market.
Qualification comes second: it can collect contact details, handle pre-sales questions and push qualified conversations towards a calendar, so traffic keeps working after office hours.
Insight comes third and is the most underrated: every question asked is logged, so recurring gaps turn into a concrete content backlog - the questions that should be answered on your pricing page or in an FAQ block.
Auto-sync retrains the assistant when a connected page or Notion document changes, which matters more than it sounds once pricing and offers change quarterly. The economics are transparent, which is more than most chatbot vendors manage.
There is a real free plan (1 chatbot, 30 AI messages a month, unlimited live chat, 50,000 training words), then Hobby at $16/month, Growth at $41, Pro at $83 and Enterprise at $416, with yearly billing at $190, $490, $990 and $4,990 - roughly two months free.
Two caveats before you commit.
GPT-4 only starts at Growth, so the $16 tier is effectively a GPT-3.5 product, and the AI message ceilings are the binding constraint: 2,000 messages a month on Hobby is about 66 a day, which a real storefront will exhaust.
The documentation also contradicts itself on integrations - the pricing-page FAQ states plainly that there is no API, while the homepage and the plan table advertise an HTTP API and API access - so confirm that before designing anything around it.
Nothing published covers SOC 2, SSO or EU data residency, which rules Userdesk out for regulated buyers.
Use Cases
Answer repetitive pre-sales questions on a product or SaaS site with a widget trained on existing docs
Capture and qualify leads 24/7 - collect contact details and push qualified visitors into a call booking flow
Serve visitors in 52+ languages without translating the whole knowledge base first
Give an internal team a Slack assistant over Notion and Google Drive documents
Mine recurring visitor questions to fix the gaps in FAQ sections, pricing pages and landing copy
Who Is This For
SaaS marketing teams that want a first responder on pricing and onboarding questions
Shopify and DTC stores answering product, shipping and returns questions outside office hours
Marketing agencies deploying an assistant per client site from one subscription
Real estate agents and local service businesses that want to convert traffic into booked calls
Freelancers and consultants fielding the same pre-sales questions every week
Key Features
Assistants trained on content you already own
Connect website pages, Notion, Google Drive and PDF files instead of writing a new knowledge base, and the assistant can be live the same afternoon.
52+ languages, answers in the visitor’s language
The assistant replies in the visitor’s language even when the connected knowledge is written in another one, so a single document set can serve several markets.
Auto-sync and automatic retraining
When a connected page or Notion document changes the assistant is retrained, so it quotes current pricing and copy instead of a stale snapshot.
Visitor insights as a content backlog
Questions and gaps are logged and clustered, turning real visitor demand into specific fixes for FAQs, pricing pages and landing copy.
Lead capture and call booking
The assistant collects purchase intent, captures contact details and books calls, then routes conversations to Slack, HubSpot or Zendesk.

Pros & Cons
Pros
- Published prices all the way up the ladder: free, Hobby $16, Growth $41, Pro $83, Enterprise $416 per month, with annual billing at $190, $490, $990 and $4,990
- Reuses content you already maintain - website, Notion, Google Drive, PDFs - instead of demanding a separate knowledge base project
- 52+ languages with replies in the visitor’s language, which is unusually useful for international landing pages and localised stores
- Deploys where the audience already is: web widget, Slack app, HTTP API plus plugins for WordPress, Webflow, Wix, Squarespace and Shopify
- Positioned around lead generation - purchase intent capture, call booking and handoff to the CRM - not just ticket deflection
- The free plan is genuinely usable for evaluation: 1 chatbot, 30 AI messages a month, unlimited live chat and 50,000 training words
Cons
- AI message allowances are the real price: 30 on the free plan, 2,000 on Hobby (roughly 66 a day), 4,000 on Growth, so a busy site outgrows tiers quickly
- GPT-4 and daily auto-sync only start at Growth $41 per month, making that the honest entry price for a marketing use case
- The documentation contradicts itself on API access: the pricing-page FAQ says there is no API while the homepage and plan table advertise an HTTP API
- No published SOC 2 or ISO certification, no SSO and no EU data residency option, which disqualifies it for regulated or enterprise buyers
- Removing the “Powered by Userdesk” badge costs an extra $39 per month, and there is no native CRM or ticketing system - it only integrates with tools that have one

Editorial view: the tier that matches a marketing use case is Growth at $41 per month, because GPT-4 and daily auto-sync start there and 2,000 messages on Hobby is only about 66 a day. The content-reuse model - website, Notion, Drive and PDFs - is what makes this an easy shortlist entry for a first website assistant, and the visitor-insights log is the part that keeps paying: it shows which questions your landing pages never answer. What is absent is enterprise paperwork. No SOC 2 or ISO certification is published, there is no SSO or EU data residency, and the pricing-page FAQ contradicts the homepage on whether an API exists, so integration plans should be confirmed with the vendor first.
